Somerset’s largest circulation newspaper, The Leveller®, has joined Somerset Day as an Official Partner. Established in 2010, the Leveller has challenged the expectations set by our local press with newspapers that are not full of pictures, that contain actual news and that attempts to hold politicians to account for their actions.
The Leveller editor and founder Andrew Lee said, “The philosophy behind the Leveller Publishing Group is that newspapers should be about building communities. Our ideal is to bring communities together through our work and to present news that is relevant in every corner of Somerset. Sometimes that will be national news with local implications. At others it will be showing how something that happens in one community, can have consequences for others. Our partnership with Somerset Day further enhances our commitment to, and support for, Somerset, its communities, businesses and people”.
The Leveller will be working closely with the team at Somerset Day said Founder of Somerset Day, Nigel Muers-Raby, “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome The Leveller as official partners. They share our belief in their desire to support Somerset’s communities, organisations and independent businesses and we look forward to working with them on our 2022 campaign to Fly the Flag for Somerset. The Leveller is read by a diverse rural community often not reached by other media and will help us raise the profile of Somerset Day across the County”.
The Leveller joins a diverse range of businesses and organisations working with Somerset Day and Shop Somerset including Evosite, Thatchers Cider, Somerset Larder, Haynes International Motor Museum and Godminster Cheese amongst others.
