Catering company Somerset Larder is partnering with Shop Somerset to promote local businesses and support local communities.
Somerset Larder made a name for itself after winning the contract to supply Hinkley Point C’s food outlets in 2016. With its reputation for supplying freshly made, locally sourced food, it has recently opened a new Somerset Larder restaurant at Musgrove Park Hospital, having been invited by Somerset NHS Foundation Trust to cater for its staff and visitor restaurant.
Shop Somerset, the first interactive map and listing facility of its kind for the county, is extending its service to offer a go to resource for all independent businesses based in Somerset, providing a showcase for traders, businesses, their products and services, allowing them to connect with consumers in their local communities and further afield.
Somerset Larder’s Managing Director, Steve Braithwaite, said: “Supporting Shop Somerset is a perfect fit for us as we are bringing together all the county’s best producers, including farmers, small food manufacturers and drinks makers, to supply everything from ‘meals to go’ to fine corporate dining. We are in a position to reflect all that is great about Somerset produce, which is what Shop Somerset is all about.”
A new website for Shop Somerset is being launched on 18th November, connecting local communities and those with a connection to Somerset, with the fabulous businesses in the county, which can be found at www.shopsomerset.co.uk
Earlier this year The Somerset Day Community Interest Company was awarded a grant by the National Lottery Community Fund in support of Shop Somerset.
