Red Dragon Flagmakers was born out of a family company manufacturing traditional sewn flags, established in 1969. Following the merger of several business (Specialist Flag Services, Mott and Jones, Flags and Bunting Galore) into one social mission business, Red Dragon Flagmakers started trading in February 2011.

The business was started by Robin Ashburner, who lives on Exmoor, and is now run by his daughter Jo Ashburner. Robin is past President of the Flag Institute and one of the few flag makers in the world to have received the international award for services to the flag industry (FIAV). He is also a Fellow of the Federation and is regarded as one of the world’s leading authorities on flags. Yet another example of the breadth of expertise here in Somerset and another reason to celebrate Somerset as a place to live, wok, play and learn!

Red Dragon Flagmakers are the only social mission flag maker in the world and make custom flags, banners, bunting and more every day in their workshops - from one-off coat of arms and the smallest of burgees for clients to wedding banners, installations for European galleries and commissions for governments and royalty. They also print quality one-off flags for sports fans, events etc.
