Pyne’s of Somerset have been partners of Somerset Day since the early days and always make an extra special effort to celebrate the day in their shop.
Founded by Philip and Beryl Pyne in 1984, the family tradition continues with Malcolm and Julie Pyne and their daughters, and they consider themselves a real family business – the staff are regarded as part of that family, not least because most of them have been with them for so long. In fact they can boast an astonishing 134 years’ experience between them.
“Somerset Day is a great opportunity to show our support of this wonderful place we live in and more than anything else to showcase the incredible produce right on our doorstep” says Malcolm Pyne.
Pyne’s are proud of their Somerset roots – so much so that they call themselves Pyne’s of Somerset.
They are passionate about fresh produce and the fact that their meat all comes from local farms is a key element of their philosophy of supporting and supplying local.
This determination to sell only the best Somerset has to offer has earned Pyne’s of Somerset many accolades over the years, culminating in being crowned Butcher’s Shop of the Year 2019, beating off top-quality competition to become the best butchers shop in the country.
