Events on Thursday 11th May 2017


Somerset Market Day
Tesco Shepton Mallet in conjunction with Wyke Farms and other local producers. An opportunity to buy local produce.

A Celebration of Somerset Talent
Temple Methodist Church 5.30pm to 8.30pm
A feast of musical entertainment from some of Somerset’s most talented young musicians and an awards ceremony for winners of the Somerset Day artwork.

The Railway Inn (Thatchers Cider’s own Inn), Sandford 7pm
An evening of entertainment with the Mendip Morris men. The Railway Inn will also be putting on a special Somerset Cider and Cheese tasting with some delicious local cheeses and Thatchers ciders. During the evening the winners of a competition organised by The Railway Inn will be announced. Pupils from Churchill primary school have been asked to be creative and enter a drawing that describes “Somerset and the area where I live.”

Thatchers Cider Myrtle Farm Shop, Sandford
There will be celebratory Somerset Day promotions on Thatchers Family Reserve sparkling apple wine in the Myrtle Farm Cider Shop.

Charity launch – COACH, French Weir Health Centre
The official launch of COACH, Taunton's Centre for Outdoor Activities & Community Hub. Come along and join in the fun from 3-5pm with taster sessions, and a short presentation on team building.

Somerset Day event at Bruton Art Factory
Join us to celebrate Somerset Day with artist Richard Pomeroy. Informal conversation talk about the exhibition and other things Cheese & Cider will be served 5pm.

A laid back afterwork social on Castle Green with live music on the BBC introducing stage and premium street food

Over 60 local food and drink producers on Castle Green with free talks and Hawksmoor Cookery School in the Quaker Meeting House on Bath Place. With livestock, tractors and buskers. Free entry

Bishops Lydeard
Saturday 13th May at the Village Hall there will be a craft fair, entertainment and an evening Ceilidh.
Sunday 14th May there is a classic and vintage vehicle run, along with a Fun Dog Show at Gore farm.
